ABOUT US
Nichols Fire District is located south of the Louisville Metropolitan/Jefferson County border, on the KY Hwy 44 W corridor and just west of KY 61 in Bullitt County. We are responsible for the safety, well-being and fire protection of our citizens and visitors of portions of West Point, KY and western portions of Shepherdsville, KY city limits, unincorporated areas of Bullitt County, in an area locally known as Nichols. We are an "all-hazards", combination agency. We are comprised of part-time and volunteer Firefighters, Firefighter/EMT's, AEMT's and Paramedics! We operate out of three, strategically placed stations to provide the best service and care to our residents. We operate 3 engine companies, 3 forestry/wildland interface units, a wildland/special operations UTV and one 1800-gallon water tanker. We respond to any service call in our district and provide mutual aid to surrounding areas, as well as receive mutual aid to provide the quickest response for our residents.
